An official synopsis have been released, and I’ve attached the full press release below. We also have 3 new HQ promotional photos, which you can view in full over at our gallery. Make sure to tune in when the show premieres October 3rd! We’ll hopefully have many new interviews and photos leading up to the premiere.

JASON RITTER STARS AS KEVIN FINN IN ABC’S NEW UNIQUE DRAMA ‘KEVIN (PROBABLY) SAVES THE WORLD,’ PREMIERING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Kimberly Hébert Gregory and Chloe East Join Ritter as He Attempts to Find the One Thing that Allows Mankind to Persevere: Hope

Kevin Finn (Jason Ritter) is not a good person. He’s not terrible, but he’s selfish and clueless, and values material wealth and status over all else. And he’s beginning to realize that those things aren’t making him happy – in fact, he’s fairly miserable. Just when things seem to be at their worst, he finds himself tasked with an unbelievable mission: saving the world. “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World,” a unique one-hour drama filled with hope, heart and a good dose of irreverent humor, premieres TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.

In the series premiere, “Pilot,” Kevin, who is on a dangerous path of despair, returns to his childhood home in Texas to crash with his widowed twin sister, Amy (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), and teenaged niece, Reese (Chloe East). It is a strained homecoming – he and his family have grown apart over the years – and Kevin has no real hope that anything will get better. But a series of fantastic events, including a meteorite landing near the house, lead Kevin to meet an unlikely celestial guide, Yvette (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). Yvette delivers incredible news to Kevin: in every generation there are 36 righteous souls on Earth whose mere existence protects the world. Kevin, she tells him, is the last of the 36 righteous. Humanity has been thrown into crisis. Without the 36, the world will begin to lose the one thing that allows us to persevere through the ups and downs of life: hope.

Now Kevin has a mission, whether he wants it or not: “power up” his soul through acts of kindness and selflessness, so that he can eventually find and anoint a new generation of righteous. Yvette will serve as his protector and teacher, a drill sergeant with divine authority, even if she’s the least angel-like person he’s ever met.

“Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” stars Jason Ritter (“Parenthood”) as Kevin Finn, JoAnna Garcia Swisher (“Once Upon a Time,” “The Astronaut Wives Club”) as Amy Cabrera, Kimberly Hébert Gregory (HBO’s “Vice Principals”) as Yvette, Chloe East as Reese Cabrera, J. August Richards as Deputy Nate Purcell, Dustin Ybarra as Tyler Medina and India de Beaufort as Kristin Allen.

Guest starring in “Pilot” is Barbara Eve Harris as Lt. Colonel O’Donnell.

“Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” is from ABC Studios. The series is created and executive produced by Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters (“Mavel’s Agent Carter,” “Resurrection,” “Reaper”). In addition, the series is executive produced by Chris Dingess and Craig DiGregorio, while Paul McGuigan was an executive producer and director on the pilot.

Earlier this week, JoAnna was interviewed by Variety about her upcoming television series ‘Kevin (Probably) Saves The World’, the charity she runs with her husband and how she got involved in acting. You can find her interview below, and we’ve added a beautiful new portrait to our gallery! Hopefully we’ll have more additions from this shoot soon.

Variety – JoAnna Garcia Swisher has been acting since she was a teen, breaking through as Reba McEntire’s daughter on the CW sitcom “Reba.” The actress returns to the small screen in ABC’s “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” in October. She also runs the Swisher Family Foundation with her husband, former pro baseball player Nick Swisher, which is devoted to helping needy children.

What intrigued you about “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World”?

There are so many incredible themes in the show. It’s a lot about reconnecting with your family and forgiveness and spirituality. It felt very different, and something that I hadn’t really done before.

How did you get involved in acting?

I had to have an extracurricular activity when I was a kid. I played tennis pretty seriously, and when I burned out on that around 10, my parents were like, “You gotta choose something different.” There was a little theater company in our area in Tampa. I auditioned for their first play, and I got bitten by the bug. I was able to start working on a professional level almost instantly. It really felt like I was doing what I was meant to be doing.

What inspired you to start the Swisher Family Foundation with your husband?

One of the things that attracted me to him was that he has such a philanthropic heart. We feel passionately about families and children and giving back and giving a leg up.

Have you learned anything surprising from running a charity?

Things can get crazy at times, considering what my husband and I do for a living; we’re relocating and moving all over the place, and then add two children to the mix. The Swisher Family Foundation and our commitment to it has really slowed things down for us, made us take a deep breath and just say, “Hey, look around and know that we are very blessed. We should try to bring that sense of blessings to other people who may be less fortunate.” I wouldn’t say anything’s surprised me. I would say it’s incredibly fulfilling.

What would you be doing if acting hadn’t worked out?

Interior design. I spend a great deal of time working on my houses and helping friends with their houses, and I’m constantly on design blogs. It’s a great love of mine. I would probably be doing that full-time.

We’ve been spoiled a lot this week, with JoAnna videos, photos and news left and right. But this one is something I’ve been the most excited to share with you all! For the first time in a VERY long time, we have a new portrait shoot of JoAnna. And she looks absolutely gorgeous – I honestly think she looks better than ever these days! Unfortunately we only have them in low quality so far, but I will do my best to find high quality versions. The portrait shoot was for a feature in “The Wrap”, and she was also interviewed by Stuart Brazell – you can watch a video below. We hope to have more from this soon!

“Fist Fight” stars Ice Cube and Charlie Day as two school teachers who plan to fight each other in the parking lot — but JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who also stars in the film, promises the film doesn’t only provide laughs but has a lot of heart as well.

“This is a perfect time, this is one of those things — not to get too deep into the deeper meaning of the movie — but there is a lot of heart in this movie,” Swisher told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “The only way you can unleash these crazy comedians in a situation like this — which they actually did, sort of unleash them and film the whole process — is if you have that heart, so we have a good balance.
It’s not a huge think piece, you just go there and have fun and enjoy,” she added.

The comedy, directed by Richie Keen, also stars Christina Hendricks, Tracy Morgan, Jillian Bell and Kumail Nanjiani. Swisher plays Day’s wife who is 10 months pregnant and is about to pop.

“Who could be more mismatched than Charlie Day and Ice Cube?” Brazell asked. “If Ice Cube told me he wanted to fight me, I would just move.”

“I would absolutely run for the hills,” added Swisher.

You can watch her appearance below, which also contains a longer clip of one of her scenes first seen in the official trailer.

The cast was also a guest at Conan last night, so stay tuned for more updates later on… This is the busiest week JoAnna has had in a very long time, and we are loving every minute! Last night, ‘Fist Fight’ had its world premiere in Los Angeles! As one of the stars of the film, JoAnna was of course in attendance – along with cast members like Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan, Christina Hendricks and Charlie Day. Our girl shone in a beautiful purple dress, and this is definitely one of my favorite looks of hers… She definitely stole the red carpet, in our opinion! We’ve been blessed with more than 70 stunning high quality photos, so make sure to head over to our photo gallery and start viewing. More photos will be added later as well!

When asked about her plans for Valentines Day at the red carpet, JoAnna replied that she would be too busy promoting Fist Fight in New York City to do anything else – so stay tuned for more updates later on…

To promote her upcoming film “Fist Fight”, JoAnna covers the February/March issue of “Miami Living” magazine! The spread features a photoshoot she did back in 2015 by Danilo Hess, and she looks so stunning. We’ve seen most of the photos before, but the cover photo is brand new! The interview was done by Vanessa Pascale, and you can check out the whole magazine issue online here. We have added HQ scans to our gallery, and a transcript is coming. Enjoy!
